Breaking News: Arizona Wildcats' Treydan Stukes Earns Coveted All-American Honors!
Arizona Football's defensive back, Treydan Stukes, has been recognized for his outstanding performance, earning a spot on the Third Team All-America list by the Associated Press. This is a significant achievement, and it's a testament to Stukes' skill and dedication.
This marks a special moment for the Arizona Wildcats. Stukes is the first defensive player to receive this honor since Antoine Cason was named First Team All-American back in 2007. It's also the second time in just three years that the Wildcats have celebrated an AP All-American, with wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan earning the title in 2023.
Despite being limited to 10 games during the regular season due to injury, Stukes made a huge impact. He recorded six pass breakups, four interceptions, and a total of 52 tackles for the Wildcats. He was a key player in the Arizona secondary, which was one of the strongest defensive units in the country. Their stats speak for themselves: they ranked fourth in the FBS for passing yards allowed, first in pass efficiency defense, and fourth in interceptions.
And this is the part most people miss... One of Stukes' most memorable plays was his interception in the third quarter of the Territorial Cup. This incredible play helped the Wildcats turn the tide against their in-state rival and earned him a spot in that night's SportsCenter Top 10 plays!
But here's where it gets controversial... In addition to his All-America recognition, Stukes was also named First Team All-Big 12 and Second Team AP All-Big 12.
Looking ahead, Stukes and the Wildcats are gearing up to conclude their 2025 season with a game against the SMU Mustangs at the Trust & Will Holiday Bowl in San Diego on Friday, January 2nd. The game is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 p.m. MST and will be broadcast nationally on FOX.
