The Chorley Best Pals' 'Living Dream' in Boyband: A Tale of Friendship and Success
The Chorley best pals, Bretherton and Olliver, are living their dream as part of the boyband December 10. Their journey began when they both auditioned in Liverpool for the Simon Cowell boyband, unaware of each other's participation until the day itself. Bretherton recalled the moment he found out: 'I said, 'I'm going to audition at this Simon Cowell boyband thing' and he was like, 'me too' and I was like, 'no way' - see you there then'.
The band also includes Cruz Lee-Ojo, Hendrik Christofferson, John Fadare, Nicolas Alves, and Seán Hayden. Bretherton and Olliver, who once ran a car washing business together, shared their excitement about Chorley and even recommended a trip to their favorite kebab shop, The Nile, to their bandmates. The band's name, December 10, was inspired by the Netflix series that first aired on that date, and they have been chanting it with enthusiasm.
Since their success, the band members have been immersed in music recording, spending a lot of time together, and interacting with fans. Olliver noted the positive impact of having friends to support them: 'I was thinking the other day, if it was just yourself it would get overwhelming, but afterwards you've got loads of your mates to speak to'.
The band's tour sold out in minutes, a testament to their popularity. They described Cowell as 'down to earth' and like 'the dad of the group', with Olliver adding a humorous twist: 'when he likes you he puts his glasses up'. The band's success has brought them to the O2 Academy in Manchester for three shows later this month, and their story continues to inspire and captivate fans.
