High Capacity Magazines and Their Critical Role for Self-Defense

High-Capacity magazines save lives.
Recently, the gun control lobby has tried to convince the general public that standard and high-capacity magazines have only one purpose–to be used by mass murderers to effectively perpetrate crimes just as Jared Loughner did in the Tuscon tragedy. They have recruited staunch anti-gun politicians such as Carolyn McCarthy (D-New York) and Frank Lautenberg (D-New Jersey) to introduce new bills in Congress that would ban standard and high capacity magazines that hold more than ten rounds. The thinking behind this legislation is that these new gun control laws would prevent violent criminals from getting their hands on these standard and high-capacity magazines and eliminate or reduce the instances of mass shootings such as the recent tragedy in Tuscon.
