Hawaii Legislation
** Currently there is no pending legislation, everything has either died or been shut down till
after the elections. Please consider your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms
when voting this November **
Hawaii is what many know as a “may issue” state. For local residents this is essentially interpreted as the “good luck and try again later” issue.
The Honolulu Chief of Police has not given any normal citizen, in at least the past 15 years, a permit to carry a firearm. Denials for the applications are essentially a blanket veto. Legislation has been proposed by State Senator Sam Slom on various occasions, however it dies in committee on a regular basis. If you have interest in coming to a place where you are virtually disarmed, unlike the “law abiding” criminals, Hawaii is your place!
